Changing your 1999-2004 Ford Lightning, mass airflow sensor to a fast-acting 2005-2010 style sensor is quickly becoming the best MAF modification for high horsepower engines. The 2005+ slot sensor allows for the sensor to be placed in multiple MAF housing sizes, extending the horsepower range. The sensors reacts quickly to changes in variables, making them far superior to the 1999-2004 factory mass airflow sensor. This setup does allow for the accommodation of the IAT1 sensor, this way it has the most accurate reading available.
